Orange Juicing is located on the snack shelf in the Practical
Life area.
The child approaches the snack shelf and takes the Orange Juicing
tray over to the refrigerator. They open the refrigerator and get
a ½ of an orange. The child then chooses a table and chair
to sit in. The child takes the orange and places it on top of the
juicer, skin side up. While grasping the orange with dominant hand,
the child turns the orange vigorously, watching as juice and pulp
come out. The child continues to turn until all of the juice is
gone from the orange. Child gets up from the chair, pushes the
chair in and throws the orange away. Child returns to the chair
and sits. Child picks up juicer and pours juice through the spout
and into the cup. Child then enjoys freshly squeezed orange juice.
Once child is done, all materials are washed and dried, placed
back on the shelf and ready for the next person.
